APPLICATION FOR YOUTH CLIMATE CATALYST
Introduction
Youth Climate Catalyst, a youth-led grassroots network working with communities to fight climate change through the onset of various projects and action-oriented approaches. This overall program examines the main causes and impacts of climate change and provides a deeper understanding of the current climate situation. The program focuses on positive actions we can take as individuals and as a community to combat climate change and call for climate action. The program overall works on developing youth catalysts who will work in their community to address climate issues & environmental problems.
20 Youths will be selected for the first batch based on their idea for green solutions then they will attend the 3-day residential workshop titled – “Green Solution Training for Youth Climate Catalysts”. Then, they get the opportunity to work on their solutions & ideas for environmental problems/issues they have identified. They will get the opportunity to work in their own community and bring green solutions to mitigate/ adapt climate & other environmental issues through their green solutions.
Objectives
To make youth understand their role in climate action and be responsible for solving the environmental in-comings.
To empower the youth in active participation in learning and implementing green ideas in their community.
To help youth and social groups acquire values and practical skills for climate action plans.

Eligibility & Selection Criteria
○ Aged between 18-29 Nepali Citizens.
○ Students pursuing Bachelor level are eligible to apply.
○ All the gender including socially excluded marginalized groups, persons with disabilities and youth from gender and sexual minorities are highly encouraged to apply.
○ Should be local youths from the targeted municipalities or willing to relocate to the project municipality.
○ Be curious to work with province and municipal personnel.
Essentials
Excellent Speaking and written Nepali and working level in the English language,
Previous experience of working in the development sector or volunteering is an advantage,
Ability to lead and work in collaboration with the local government,
Proven spirit of volunteerism or community involvement,
Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft,
PowerPoint, email,
Absolute time commitment till July 2024.
Currently residing youth in one of the mentioned municipality.

FAQ
YCC is a youth-led grassroots network working with communities to fight climate change through the onset of various programmes and action-oriented approaches.
The overall idea of the programme is to provide a platform for youths to explore their ideas and green solutions and implement their ideas working by identifying the environmental issues in their municipality.
Participants should have at least completed a +2 education or above.
Participants must be aged between 18 to 29 years.
You should apply individually. If you are selected, you can form a group among the participants for the implementation of your project ideas in your community.
Previous experience in a similar working area will be an asset.
A total of 20 youths will be selected as Youth Climate Catalyst for this programme in the first phase.
The deadline for submitting the application will be April 25, 2023.
The announcement of 20 Youth Climate Catalysts will be made on March 30, 2023.
The Residential workshop will be conducted from May 22 – 24, 2023.
